‘Pyjamas’ is de nieuwste single van het aanstaande album ‘Young Hearts’ van Benny Sings, dat op 24 maart uitkomt. ‘Young Hearts’ is een album dat de spontaniteit van een goed idee weergeeft, en het resultaat is van de unieke samenwerking van Benny met Kenny Beats. Kenny Beats is de drijvende kracht achter een breed scala aan releases van Dominic Fike, Ed Sheeran, Vince Staples, Rico Nasty, Denzel Curry en het in 2022 met een Grammy genomineerde album ‘CRAWLER’ van IDLES.

General
This song was made when Benny was writing in LA at Kenny Beats’ studio. It was such a blast being in his wonderful environment, surrounded by the best musicians and writers in the scene. We all hopped in for percussion together, Vaughn (Oliver), Izzy (Fontaine), Kenny (Beats), Remi (Wolf) and me. Killer chords by Izzy and sick melodies by Remi. It’s a song about a man with low libido and his other half wanting some more.
What does this release mean to you?
It’s just a fun breezy track, and I think the papapaaa hook is just perfect. It’s an honor for me to work with someone like Remi, she is the real deal.
Could you explain the inspiration behind the release?
I’ve always loved bossa nova. I’ve listened to one specific album of Juao Gilberto and Stan Getz over a million time in my life. This music is light, yet profound, and I love it. So to give an homage to this music, together with Kenny’s crazy drums, is a thrill for me.
How did you meet Remi Wolf? Did you know her already? What was it like working with her?
I was in contact with Remi a small bit already, but we met when Kenny invited her to the studio, when we were writing the album there. We already made a lot of instrumentals, and she just came in and improvised on all of them and just killed. That was pretty amazing to witness.
How did you approach the production of this release?
The production was pretty much us playing real instruments, and the Kenny pumping it up with his production.
Is there a story behind this release?
For me it was also so cool to work with Vaughn Oliver, because I knew him so well from all the samples he made, and I used. To have him in the studio was just mind boggling
