Rupert Blackman

Rupert Blackman (pka Ruxley) is een Engelse zanger en songwriter, woonachtig in Nederland. Rupert vond succes als leadzanger bij Causes (RCA/Sony/PIAS), die een reeks hitsingles in Nederland uitbracht, waaronder het platina-verkopende ‘Teach Me How to Dance With You’ en de gouden single ‘Walk on Water’. Nadat Causes was opgeheven, keerde Rupert terug naar Groot-Brittannië en begon voor andere artiesten te schrijven. Hij schreef mee aan MK’s zomerhit “2am” en schreef met artiesten als Callum Scott, Martin Garrix, JC Stewart, Upsahl, Bülow, Mae Muller en Sam Tompkins. Hij heeft meer dan 150 miljoen streams verzameld en samengewerkt met schrijvers en producenten zoals Lostboy, Plested, Lindy Robbins, Cutfather, Max Wolfgang, The Orphanage, Digital Farm Animals en Sly.

Toen Covid toesloeg, keerde Rupert terug naar Nederland, waar hij nu samen met zijn jonge gezin woont. Begin 2023 tekende hij een nieuwe deal (als artiestennaam Ruxley) bij PIAS Records en zal in de loop van 2023 en 2024 een reeks singles uitbrengen. Naast zijn nieuwe artiestenproject blijft hij schrijven voor andere artiesten en geniet hij van weer een Nederlandse zomerhit met Nick Schilder’s “Shatterproof” in de Nederlandse Top5 airplay charts.

Rupert heeft geschreven met andere lokale acts zoals Martin Garrix, Duncan Laurence, Armin van Buuren, Lucas & Steve, Maan, Wulf, Douwe Bob, Rondé, Miss Montreal, Hardwell, Nicky Romero, Oliver Heldens, Dotan, Ilse de Lange & Dubvision.

Rupert Blackman (pka Ruxley) is an English singer and songwriter living in The Netherlands. Rupert found success as the lead vocalist in Causes (RCA/Sony/PIAS), who released a string of hit singles in The Netherlands including the platinum-selling “Teach Me How to Dance With You” and the gold-status “Walk on Water”. After Causes disbanded, Rupert returned to the UK and began writing for other artists. He penned MKs summer hit “2am” and wrote with artists including Callum Scott, Martin Garrix, JC Stewart, Upsahl, Bülow, Mae Muller & Sam Tompkins. He has amassed over 150m streams and collaborated with writers and producers such as Lostboy, Plested, Lindy Robbins, Cutfather, Max Wolfgang, The Orphanage, Digital Farm Animals, and Sly.

When Covid hit he found himself swept back to Holland where he now makes his home with his young family. In early 2023 Rupert signed a new artist deal (Ruxley) at PIAS Records and will release a batch of singles over 2023 and 2024. Alongside his new artist project he continues to write for other artists and is enjoying another Dutch summer hit with Nick Schilder’s “Shatterproof” in The Netherlands Top5 airplay charts.
